How much does a notary service cost?
It depends on the type of act and, for sales or mortgages, on the value of the property. Government fees and taxes, paid to the State, are added to the notary's fees. Before we begin, we send you a written quote.
What makes up the cost
- The notary's fees, which depend on the type of act and, in many cases, on the amount of the transaction.
- Registry fees, such as registration with the Public Registry (Registros Públicos).
- Any taxes that apply to the transaction, which the notary calculates and includes in the quote.
- The prior certificates requested from each office.
Simple services and services involving a deed
A signature certification or a certified copy is done on the spot and costs little. A deed of sale or of mortgage costs more because it includes the title review, the certificates, the drafting, the signing and the registration afterwards.
